Due to continued growth, and a strong order book  we are looking for an experienced site supervisor on behalf of our large manufacturing client, to be based at one of their sites in the Rochdale area.

The pupose of the role will be to supervise a team of operatives to ensure they produce products on time, and to the correct specification and quality.


Hours of work

Flexibility is required for this role, working shifts may be 8-5, 6-2 / 2-10


Hourly Rate

£11.33 p/h


Main Responsabilities:

  • Supervise a team of operatives and forepersons to ensure that they carry out their work effectively and safely.

  • Monitor the volume and quality of output to ensure that these are to the standards required as laid down in the manufacturing programme.

  • Monitor production equipment and processes as necessary to ensure that the volume and quality of output are maintained to the required standard.

  • Receive, store and distribute raw materials to ensure that there are sufficient stocks to meet production requirements.  Follow up on any shortages.

  • Monitor manning levels on production equipment and make recommendations / changes as necessary in the event of staff absence to support programme.

  • Address and resolve (with relevant department) any technical issues airing in the production process which may prevent the meeting of the programme.

  • Train operators in the production process to ensure that they work efficiently and safely.

  • Monitor the working environment to ensure that Company safety policies and H&S regulations are compiled with and to provide a safe and healthy working environment.

  • Maintain all necessary production records.

  • Conduct, where necessary investigation or potential disciplinary action relating to HR issue (up to Written Warning).

  • Ensure that the site and associated equipment is secure out of hours.

           Carry our any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Directors.


The ideal candidate:

    • Educated to GCSE level minimum.

    • At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant production process.

                      At least 3 years’ team leader / supervisory experience

    • Proven IT competency including spreadsheets.

    • Use logic and reasoning to identify solutions in dealing efficiently with problems.

    • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet internal deadlines.

    • Leadership skills and collaborative way of working, ensuring sharing ideas and concepts.

    • Adaptable to change and ability to encourage others towards change.

    • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Good time management skills.

                      Leadership and interpersonal skills.
