Production Operative
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Production Operative to join our busy manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with production experience who is looking for a long-term career within a well-established manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a Production Operative, you will be responsible for manufacturing large industrial moulded rubber components, working as part of a skilled production team. Full training will be provided across all aspects of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate production machinery and industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manufacture high-quality moulded rubber products to production specifications.
- Work with compression moulding presses, moulds and associated machinery.
- Use hand tools and measuring equipment, including vernier gauges and tape measures.
- Follow quality, health & safety and production procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
About You :
- Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with industrial machinery, presses, moulds or similar equipment (desirable).
- Experience handling chemicals within a manufacturing setting (desirable).
- A current Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (preferred but not essential).
- Good numeracy, literacy and basic computer skills.
- The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing production requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
- The ability to use initiative and solve problems independently.
- A solid employment history, ideally within manufacturing or production.
Working Hours :
Monday to Friday
07:30 – 16:00 (40 paid hours per week)
Following a successful 12-week probation period, you may be required to work a weekly rotating shift pattern:
- Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- Late Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Pay & Benefits :
- £13.50 per hour during the initial 12-week period.
- £15.61 per hour upon successful completion of probation and permanent employment.
- £17.60 per hour when working the rotating shift pattern.
- Overtime paid at time and three-quarters.
- Temporary to permanent opportunity.
