Job Title: Countryside Ranger
Location: Rochdale Borough Area
Working Hours: Day shifts (predominantly outdoor work)
Salary: £13.55 - £13.69 per hour


We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Countryside Ranger to join our team within the Rochdale Borough area. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys working in natural environments and contributing to the upkeep and sustainability of local green spaces.

Countryside Ranger Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general countryside maintenance, including fence repairs and installation
  • Maintain and manage outdoor drainage systems
  • Support and assist with educational sessions and community engagement activities
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with environmental and health & safety regulations
  • Operate equipment and tools required for land management tasks

Countryside Ranger Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Valid and up-to-date PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates (essential)
  • Experience in countryside management, grounds maintenance, or a similar outdoor role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, particularly when supporting educational activities

Countryside Ranger Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a ranger or environmental role
  • Knowledge of local wildlife and conservation practices
