Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker
Location: Middleton, Manchester
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £13.74 - £14.26 per hour (depending on experience)
Our client is a well-established precision sheet metal manufacturer with over 60 years of experience delivering high-quality, high-volume components to a wide range of industries.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced, reliable and hardworking Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term employment within a professional and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Carry out general sheet metal fabrication and assembly work.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform countersinking, tapping, PEM insertion (Pemsert), spot welding and stud welding to a high standard.
- Assist with the assembly and finishing of fabricated components.
- Maintain excellent quality standards and attention to detail.
- Work effectively as part of a busy production team.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience :
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
- Proven experience in:
- Countersinking
- Tapping
- PEM insertion (Pemsert)
- Spot welding
- Stud welding
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Basic Maths and English skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours :
- Monday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Tuesday – Thursday: 7:40am – 5:30pm
- Friday: 7:40am – 3:50pm
- Saturday: 6:00am – 2:00pm (when required)
Overtime is paid at 1.5x the hourly rate after 38 hours worked.
