Due to continued expansion and investment, our engineering / manufacturing client based in Eccles is currently looking for a Production Manger with fabrication experience to join their team on a permanent basis.

Role - Helping run a busy steel fabrication facility, reporting into the Production Director.
Salary - This position pays between £28K-£32K depending on experience + benefits
Hours - 07:30am to 16:30pm Monday to Friday

Main Responsibilities:
- Managing a busy fabrication facility with responsibility for 20 staff incorporating fabricators, metal dressers, forming and assembly staff
- Managing the day to day running of all production responsibilities including work allocation, process times and scheduling
- Ensuring products are fabricated to customer specifications, industry standards and to apportioned deadlines
- Coordinating with external partners such as powder coaters and steel suppliers
- Strong focus on H&S and ensuring the companies compliance to exacting standards including ensuring workers are compliant to expected protocols
- Implementing processes and working practices
- Resolving production bottlenecks and ensuring works run to timely schedules

Person Required :
- Must have strong management skills with a proven ability of leading people
- Must have a highly developed knowledge of fabrication skills, welding, dressing, assembly within a fabrication environment
- Must be able to schedule work, liaise with suppliers and ensure the correct parts are available
- Must be dynamic to transcend between shop floor based and white collar office responsibilities
- A strong knowledge of architectural fabrication and the light fabrication sector would be highly beneficial
- The ability to lead continuous improvements including time analysis, time and motion and shop floor development activities
- Clear leadership and direction is a must
- The ability to police production and drive the workforce towards the achievement of set tasks is a crucial element to the role
- Must be standard driven
- Candidates must be Time Served in a fabrication or sheet metal discipline (or similar)
