Our client based in Eccles Greater Manchester are activley seeking an experienced works supervisor for their rapidly expanding manufacturing business

You will play a “hands on” role consisting of supervising, motivating and directing welders and fabricators, overseeing the production and quality of products, specifically in the assembly process.

Work Activities

  • To manage the manufacturing process to the company's QA policy
  •  To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company health, safety and quality regulations
  •  To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures
  •  To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to
  •  Play an active part in continuous improvement
  •  Liaise with Senior Management Teams with any reasonable requests
  •  Drive own personal development through training and work based experience
  • Leading, managing and mentoring the departmental team leaders
  • Identify training needs for workshop staff and ensure workshop staff remains up to date with all Work Instructions and workshop procedures
  • Review of master production schedules and work orders by holding regular work in progress and production meetings
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post
  • Assist the Production Manager in the development of the Business Plan and communicate it to Team Leaders and Operators
  • Record and measure team performance against agreed production targets and drive continuous improvement throughout manufacturing
  • Report on performance statistics to Production Manager weekly
  • Assist with the introduction of new products and materials.
  • Monitor, measure and report on production issues and achievements within agreed formats and timescales, ensuring that solutions to issues are identified and appropriately implemented
  • To play a “hands on” role in the managing motivating and directing the company’s production workforce, with ability to operate machines including guillotine and press brakes.

  • A technical apprenticeship in fabrication engineering
  • Management / supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience within an manufacturing environment
